Located directly east of Hanoi, Vietnam, the Island of Hainan presented us with the most amazing site of which we have ever been gifted to work. As the lead landscape architect and design coordinator for Tom Weiskopf, I embarked on an extraordinary adventure.

This truly unique site — a watermelon field located on the Pacific Ocean was truly remarkable. We put together a specialized team of shapers and designers to craft a stunning dunes-scape that would transform this property into something stunning.

With an incredible 15 holes directly overlooking the ocean, even the most passionate golfers can’t help but reach for their cameras to capture the spectacular scenery. It’s an experience that goes beyond just playing a game – it’s a feast for the senses unlike any other. Every inch of this expansive 3500-acre property was carefully sculpted to create a traditional links-style course reminiscent of those found in Australia’s Sand-belt.

Our efforts did not go unnoticed, as this unforgettable golf experience received numerous awards and accolades. One notable recognition was being named as the top new resort golf course by Forbes list in 2013.
